Christmas Light Displays

Christmas Light Displays

Are you and your family looking for something fun to do this Christmas season? Do you love driving around to see all of the pretty Christmas lights? If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, then this article is for you! We have beautiful light displays here in Springfield and surrounding areas and have the entire month of December to see them!

The Bagwell Light Display is the most popular display in Springfield. Unlike other displays that charge admission fees, this light display simply asks for donations. Mr. Bagwell arranges the display with his neighborhood each year and uses the money collected during the drive-through in December to maintain and improve the light display the following year. This light attraction is a drive-through spectacular where you can see artistic light designs that coordinate with Christmas music you listen to in your car by tuning in to a particular radio station. There are over 150,000 individual lights and it takes all year to put them up! Be prepared to wait in traffic if you go; I recommend grabbing some hot chocolate and a blanket to take along for the ride. It will become very popular in the upcoming week or so. My family and I go every year and it is definitely worth the wait!

Shepherd of the Hills Trail lights is another fairly popular light display. It is also a drive-through light display and has been in the Branson area for over 30 years. The admission is 25 dollars for every car, but has complimentary hot cocoa at the end! This attraction is 160 acres and takes about 40 minutes to complete. The lights are all animated and are like a true show! There are well over a million multi-colored lights to see here. This organization also collects donations!

I hope that after hearing about these attractions, you might want to make visiting the area Christmas light displays a tradition for you and your family. There are many more local light displays that are amazing as well. These displays always change a little bit, so it’s refreshing to see them annually if you get the chance. Grab some cocoa for the family and head out to enjoy one of the many beauties of the holiday season!
