Johanna Simon – Autobiography

Well, it started when I was born… my life! I weighed 5 lbs. 12 oz. I had barely any hair, just soft little baby hairs. I was born on May 19th in the year of 2008. Skip forward a few months, (I’m almost 2) and my sister is born. Her name is Karleigh and she was born on Groundhog’s day, which is also my dad’s birthday, 2010. We are 20 months apart.  A few years later, I was taught the alphabet and their sounds. I taught myself to read at 3 years old. By kindergarten, I was reading The Magic Treehouse. Apparently, I have some very funny stories about me when I was this age, but maybe I’ll tell them in a different article.

My kindergarten teacher, Ms. Foley at Wanda Gray recommended me for testing for WINGS. It seemed like a long time until we found out results. I got in! My best friend Claire had gotten in when she was in kindergarten and I could finally be there with her. My first teacher at WINGS was Ms. Gathright, a fun, loving, kind, young teacher and her assistant, Ms. Vulmar.

When I was in 2nd grade, I got into KUBS… with Claire. KUBS is a mix of 2nd and 3rd graders and to me, all the 3rd graders were extremely tall. I was a merchandiser in our popcorn business, Jungle Pop. The next year, I was the Editor in Chief of our magazine business, KHS Rockin’ Sports. We each interviewed an athlete at Kickapoo.

4th grade had my favorite teacher of all: Mr. D! Mr. Davidson was gone half the year, but he still threw parties. He was gone because he was adopting two girls from Ukraine. In 5th grade, I had Mr. Kennedy as my homeroom teacher at Wilson’ Creek. He loved barbecue, rapping, and rapping about barbecue. Now, me in 6th grade… a quirky, happy almost 11 1/2 girl. Thank you for reading my summary of my life!
