7th grade Football Team

The USA’s most popular sport, football, is available at Cherokee. Led by our wonderful coach, Coach Rios. We have two teams, one available to our seventh graders and one for our eighth graders. With our eighth-grade team finishing out the season with a score of 4-1 and our seventh-grade team undefeated, the games are very fun to watch.

Next week, we play against Pleasant View, who is currently undefeated. Our boys are fired up and ready to go. “Our defense was slacking at the beginning year but we picked it up, we did better, and I think overall we did good and closed the deal,” says Levi Phillips seventh grade QB. “To this point, we have performed at a reasonably high level. We have told to our boys at the beginning of the season to keep improving one day to the next and then we can stack a whole bunch of improvements to make a large improvement.  We are definitely much more improved this late in the season compared to the beginning of the season. So far we are on schedule to be that improved team we strode out to be at the beginning of the season.”  says Coach Rios. Cherokee has a high chance of winning all-city champs, so let’s root them on to victory! Pleasant View is going to put up a big fight!

It’s always a good time at Cherokee football games. Even if you don’t like football you should come to the game and I bet you’ll like it. With Cherokee’s winning powerhouse, why not watch a game? You can socialize, cheer on the team, and have fun. Let’s root on the team and go Indians!!!
