A guy named Bill Hendricks started Toys for Tots. He founded it in Los Angeles, California in 1947. In 1948, the United States Marine Corps adopted Toys for Tots. After that, Toys for Tots expanded nationwide! Walt Disney designed the now used Toys for Tots train logo. He also made the first nationwide Toys for Tots poster. Posters are a big part of this annual event. In recent years, popular cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Bugs Bunny, and the Road Runner have been featured on the posters.
