Many of you have probably heard about the raging fires that seem to be setting much of the west coast aflame. Primarily taking place in California, these said wildfires are destroying everything; from invaluable possessions to loved ones.
One of the largest fires on the news recently is known as Camp Fire. Spanning 153,336 acres, this inferno has claimed 85 lives, as well as injuring 3 firefighters. It began at 6:30 a.m. on November 8. By the end, it destroyed 18,733 structures and 13,972 homes were lost. Search and rescue workers recently have given up the search for the 11 people that remain missing. Camp Fire was the deadliest wildfire in California history.

Another burned area is near Clear Lake, but it is also affecting some counties i

n northern California. Known as the Mendocino Complex Fire, it is a combination of two fires that began in the same area and joined their flames together when they became too close to remain separate. Although it has thankfully claimed no lives, it has damaged 328,226 acres.

In conclusion, keep in mind how blessed Missouri is that we do not have worry about coming home and finding our entire block aflame. Pray for the victims who have lost their homes and loved ones, as well as the firefighters who put their lives on the line to try and prevent the damage and save communities.
