We have come to a generation that is almost completely dedicated to playing video games.  We all want the up to date systems. In 2018 there are lots of good game systems, but are they good enough to make it in the top 6 gaming systems of 2018? These gaming systems are not in order. This is just a list of some of them.

Best for Mobility: Nintendo Switch launched on May 3, 2017, the Switch hit markets labelled as a mobile device, meaning you not only had to play at home or on the tv but you could take it anywhere and play on it with no problems. The Switch came out strong with a line up of different games. Games such as Mario Kart 8, Legend of Zelda, and Mario Odyssey (October 2017). The price when the Switch first came out was 499.99. Currently, the price is 299.99.

Best for Graphics: Xbox One X is the system if you looking for the most realistic from a current gaming console. The Xbox One X has some of the most powerful displays you can ask for.  Containing six trillion floating point operations per second giving it the most graphical horsepower in the 4K quality graphics at 60 frames per second. Floating points per seconds are the measurement of computer performance. Microsoft is planning to make the original Xbox and Xbox 360 with the 4K performance.

Most Popular: Playstation 4 Pro has sold 64 million consoles sold worldwide. It has the latest update in the system with even more robust power. Robust means to have more strength. The PlayStation 4 Pro has over 1,648 games downloaded into the system which can be played in HD with its pro version. It is also popular for also playing Blu-Ray Discs, as well as streaming music or Tv.

Best for Families: The Nintendo Wii U has earned the title of the most kid-friendly gaming system. Containing E for everyone games is just pure fun with the family. The Wii uses a gamepad controller with a screen in it. Therefore there will be no interference with the Tv and you can take without anyone trying to “steal” the Tv back. It has some of the most fun multiplayer games such as Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, are both compatible with 4 players. The Wii is also compatible with Wii remote controllers so you don’t have to go out and buy more remotes.

Best Value: Xbox 360 E Console is selling at $200. As for the space of the Xbox (4GB), the console is able to add another media hard drive for more space. Contains over 1,200 Xbox games in the media library. The console comes with the essentials, wireless controller, built-in Wi-Fi, and one month free of Xbox Live Gold (online shopping and multiplayer).  

Best for backward compatibility (able to use with an older piece of hardware or software): PlayStation 3 is backwards compatible with your older PlayStation games and any add-on software. This also includes a built-in DVD player/ Blu-ray player, as well as built-in Wi-Fi. The PlayStation 3 is also good for, video chat, internet access, photo viewing, and video viewing. This currently has a library of over 1,400 and also combining with PlayStation 2’s library of 3,874 games and the PlayStation One’s library of 2,513 games.

These are the best gaming systems of 2018. A few of these are older but they are still pretty good in today’s ratings. They will be coming up with many more better gaming systems in the years to come. But, for now, these were good enough for the top 6.
