Cherokee Sports

Cherokee has a lot of available sports, and they are very popular. Most are for 7th and 8th graders only, but some are for 6th graders. This is an analysis of Cherokee’s sports.

Soccer: This is one of the sports that 6th graders can join. There is a JV1 team, JV2 team, and Varsity. The season starts in about August and ends in November. The teams split up into Blue and White teams, and they aren’t traveling.

Wrestling: The Wrestling Team is open to all 7th and 8th grade Cherokee boys and girls. There is a whole article dedicated to it, so go check that out!

Volleyball: Volleyball is open to 7th and 8th grade girls, and it is a cut sport — meaning not everyone who tries out makes the team. The volleyball season runs from August to October.

Basketball: Cherokee’s basketball team is not a traveling team, but it is very competitive. It’s for 7th and 8th graders only, and there is a girls’ team and a boys’ team. The season goes from October to December for girls, and the boy’s season goes from December to February.

Football: Cherokee football is not a traveling team, but is very competitive. It is for 7th and 8th graders only. The season is from August to October.

Cross Country: The Cross Country team is not traveling, but it is very competitive. It’s for 7th and 8th graders only. The season starts in August and ends in October.

Track & Field: Track and Field is open to all 7th and 8th graders. the season begins after Spring Break.
