The new Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast was released this March 16, 2017. Beauty and the Beast, for those who do not know, is a fairy tale about a girl who falls in love with a beast. If you haven’t guessed this yet, the moral would be: It’s what’s on the inside that counts.

I went to go see the movie, Beauty and the Beast. This is my personal opinion on the movie, you do not have to agree at all, you can say, “Worst movie ever!” You can even say, “Best movie since…” This is my personal opinion.

So starting with my review I would like to talk about Belle, who is played by Emma Watson. Which if you are like me, you agree that Emma Watson is an amazing actress! Fun fact Emma Watson played Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, so any Harry Potter nerds here? Going back to Emma Watson playing Belle, I think she did an amazing job being a book worm or playing Belle in the beginning. She played an amazing role as the girl who didn’t want to be like everyone else.

Now we have looked at the main character, Belle now we can look at the villain’s side of the story. Gaston or the villain was played by none other than, Luke Evans! Evans did an amazing job playing as Gaston, especially when he helped his friend LeFou when sing, “As Good As Gaston.” No one could’ve played a better part than Gaston!

Going into Gaston and LeFou, I think Disney did an amazing job going into Gaston and LeFou’s character. They certainly made Gaston easy to hate, but at the same time have amazing characteristics to go along with his character. Then LeFou’s character was amazing, LeFou was set out to be that character with the bad influences, but Disney managed to add LeFou having a pure soul at the same time.

Speaking of Lefou, Gaston’s friend, lots of articles have been about him in Beauty and the Beast. In the movie lots of hints pointing that LeFou is gay. Now if you do not agree with the LGBT+ skip to the next paragraph and don’t mind this topic, please. So with this information, if you go on and search, “Is LeFou gay?” Lots of articles will come up with an opinion. From what I could tell is a lot of people are happy that Disney committed to a gay character! Others are not happy, “Why does he have to be a villain?” More people were satisfied than angry but it is amazing to see how our generation is moving and learning to accept differences. Unless millions of years ago a gay person might’ve been killed for being, ‘different.’

Without further ado, I think the remake of Beauty and the Beast was absolutely amazing! What do you guys think? Great movie or could Disney do a lot better? Please share! I look forward to reading comments where they’re agreement or disagreement.
